Simple Background:
A Simple Background is elements with less than 4 elements. Characters should feel like their interacting with their background and not simply tossed in. Simple backgrounds gains the bonus of +3 Tokens.
Note: Sky elements such as; clouds, birds, moon, stars, the sun, etc. equals as only 1 sky element. So if you were to illustrate a scenery with grass, trees, and a night sky with clouds and stars, it will only total to a Simple Background due to the sky. Adding in another element such as a shrub or a bench will qualify for a Complex Background. However if the scenery, that has less than 4 elements, and shows a high amount of skill level/detail, it will be exempted from this rule and instead will be considered a Complex Background.

Calculating Levels:
When you have draw a piece of art depicting your monster, you can earn Levels for them! Levels (LVLs) are basically Experience Points (EXP). When your Monster/Pet has reached LVL 100 it will unlock; Breeding, and Bonus Earnings when used in general art or gift-art!
How to calculate Monster LVLs:
*this includes chibi or non-chibi art. Refer to chibi rules above.
For Written entries:
A. If someone drew fanart of your unleveled monsters, they shall receive +1 Token per lvl along with the general earnings above. The owner of the under leveled monster shall only obtain the levels.
Q. I accidentally drew my monster too small! Will I still get levels or bonus earnings?
A. If the mods can still spot it is your monster in the image, you will still get your levels or bonus! It is recommended not to draw them too tiny until it is obscured or hard to see them, otherwise you risk not earning Tokens or LVLs for it.
Q. Can I draw many pictures, like a collage? How do I calculate it?
A. You can! And each picture is treated as their own standalone artwork. So if you had compiled 3 artworks, you must have the appropriate calculations and ref links for those 3 artworks.

An example of a lvl 100 Calculation:
This artist had drawn fanart of two(2) of my lvl 100 monsters. So their calculations go as following: Bonus Earnings (lvl 100 - Guest Monster): Fullbody Coloured with Shading (+3 lvls) Complex Background- tree, sky, water, bushes (+2 lvls) 3 lvls + 2 lvls x 2 monsters = 10 lvls Total: 10 lvls x 2 Tokens = 20 Tokens 10 lvls x 1 Tokens = 10 Tokens for @paradisefever The artist has earned a grand bonus of 20 Tokens for drawing fanart of my monsters! While I have gained 10 Tokens for owning two(2) lvl 100 Monsters from this piece as well. Add this bonus amount to your usual calculations and it should total as follows: "General Art Earnings: Detailed Background: 10 Token Fullbody Shaded: 5 Token x 2 = 10 Tokens Total: 20 Tokens Grand Total: 20 Tokens + 20 Tokens (giftart bonus) = 40 Tokens 10 Tokens go to @paradisefever" So this artist has earned a whopping 40 Tokens from this piece alone! While I get 10 Tokens as a reward too. Note: Remember to give the appropriate links! This includes for monster refs, character refs, and inventories. If I drew this art I would get: "General Art Earnings: Detailed Background: 10 Token Fullbody Shaded: 5 Token x 2 = 10 Tokens Total: 20 Tokens Bonus Earnings (lvl 100 - Personal Monster): 10 lvls x 1 Tokens = 10 Tokens Grand Total: 20 Tokens + 10 Tokens = 30 Tokens" I would earn 30 Tokens from this piece! |
