ChupChups are strange bipedal feathered like creatures found in the coastal and jungle areas of Juju-Islands. They move fast and skitter about, always seemingly to be nervous most of the time. Their wall-eyes are able to see in multiple directions similar to a chameleon. In ancient times ChupChups are a favorite delicacy for Impishun and Haiwari people as they are a wide spread and populated species through the lands. Besides for food, some well-defined ChupChups are kept as pets and even traded between villages. It has been said that the Goddess Hikissu created these creatures from leftover ash, mud, and leaves from the first jungles. From there she passed the sculpture several times to the God D'Jhakol before they finally breathed life onto the mud, quickly, to stop the Earth Goddess' badgering from their studies. Shaping them to what they are now. A beautiful Chup that is trained and sings well will often fetch for high amounts, and can be seen depicted on temple markings of the wealthy. While less then stellar ones would wind up on the chopping block. Most tribe members would wear a ChupChup's feathers, fur, leather, eye cusps, and bones for decoration or to be part of an instrument such as the popular pan-flute in Midga. In present times however the ChupChups aren't nearly as hunted which caused an up-rise in the population, and are considered a pest as they encroach into civilization, especially in highly populated areas in cities. Their known offences is digging through rubbish, ripping up garden beds and frolicking in gutters for food or curiosity due to the destruction of their natural habitats. Bigger, stronger, and faster ChupChups on the other hand would see their fate in the race tracks, and is popular mini sport to gamble on besides the annual Draquine Derby. Average Height: 2' 3" - 3' 8" Diet: Insect, Seafood and Plants. With their jittery nature they prefer to pluck things off and eat quickly. Location: Coastal, Jungles, Forests and Tundra. The adapt easily in most places, and prefer to have many locations to hide from predators. |
