A horse/ungulate species that was said to have fallen off the spine of the star constellation Draco in the night sky, falling onto earth like a shooting star. Their earliest ancestral lineage can be dated to two individuals. Ios, a gallant black mare whose beauty is unsurpassable, with hair and a coat that glistens like the universe, and Arsathai , a white stallion who is a mystery renowned for their speed, coming and going just like sunshine itself. Draquines are the Drakonian people’s most prized possessions, and have carefully cultivated their very existence, keeping them hidden from outsiders. A devastating plague affected the herds, causing thousands to perish, but hardy and graceful creatures, they have been slowly recuperating along with the help of others, which led them to be dotted around across the world. They are respected in Drakonian society and the population is carefully observed and is one of most difficult places to get an official Draquine permit from. A permit from them however is world renowned and can be likened to a certificate or crowning of honour in the breeding world. The annual Draquine Derby is the most popular gambling sport throughout the lands, with many flocking to buy tickets, and huddle around the projector or radio to listen in every detail. Average Height (at withers): Striker: 5 ft - 5 ft 8 inches Shire: 5 ft 10 inches - 6 ft Cob: 3ft 5 inches - 4 ft 2 inches Diet: Plants, Insects and Meat. Draquines are 80% vegetarian, however when they are young, drakes have a hefty appetite for protein and it consists of about half of their diet. Location: Tundra, Alpine, and Grasslands. Draquines prefer a large, cool and open area where there is enough to frolic in with their herd. However some domestic breeds can tolerate Wetlands and dry Desert areas. |

Rank: Common The Standard is the typical breed in Draquines, characteristically defined with their long strong legs, and overall sturdy build. They are a diverse build able to work in most industries that revolve around transportation, carting, general companionship, hobbyist, competition and racing. They shine the most within jobs revolving around speed and endurance. Capable of running for miles on end without getting tired. Standards have been known to jump well over basic fencing. Also known as a Striker due to how fast they dash within a strike of a second. |
Shire:
Rank: Uncommon The Shire is bred specifically to handle laborious activities such as pulling heavy load and ploughing fields. In general the breed is tough and patient to handle all sorts of grueling work tossed at them. A popular farmers choice and for taxi services deep within certain rural cities, where they can be seen tugging away on trams and narrow boats near the river's edge. It has been speculated they had achieved their name from pulling the carts of nobility and established aristocrats. Typically a Shire's mane is kept short to prevent it from getting stuck into any machinery, but those who are performing in shows or circuses can be seen with long extravagant feathering and hair. |
Cob:
Rank: Rare Can be best described for their general pudginess and short legs. Despite their looks they can equally be as tough as a Shire and can carry folks on their backs with ease. Popular mounts in mountain areas since they are quite nimble around steep cliffs. A Cob's temperament varies from drake to drake, and majority of them can be high-spirited just like a chihuahua. Smallest of the breeds, the Cob is easily or at least competitive with the other smaller monster breeds in the market. |
