A race of dragon humanoids that has a long history of association with the Sky God. A proud race who is deep within their own culture and beliefs.
They have scaled limbs akin to a dragon, typically on their arms, legs and will sport a tail. While the rest of the body is skin. Usually tall and elegant, often compared to a high-elf; longer limbs, and neck. A grown Drakonian can almost reach 8 feet in height without much difference in gender. They can be depicted with breasts, sexual organs, or without - this is up to you. Easily the most magically charged resident other than Void Drakes, they command a high proficiency in the art of magic. Even with their finesse with aether-control, Drakonians are known for their strength and have been heard to crush a grown man's skull with just a strong enough grip. A Drakonian is often placed with a mask on the day they are born to conceal their face and ideals from outside corruption. It's almost impossible to see a Drakonian without their mask. Gossips tell from other lands tell that they have no face, besides their mouths; their eyes, noses and even some part of their cranium is missing or malformed due to the constructs of the masks they wear. Average Height: 4ft - 10ft
Diet: Primarily Meat. Drakonians have a hardy stomach and strong jaws that can take on the toughest of flesh, fur and even bone that make their way onto their plates. Plants can also be found in their diets as a side dish. Seafood is a steadily upcoming source in their pantries now that they have access to ocean trade routes. Location: Originated in the Viora highlands, but has spread throughout the lands. It is however still rare to bump into one compared to the other Residents such as the Impishun, and Haiwari. |

Dragonblood:
Rank: Common The most prominent type of Drakonian, named for their strong bonds that equally match the mythical creature. It's naming origin however is murky with several variants and is up for debate with scholars and historians; the most popular being that the Drakonian were offspring of the Sky Gods' children, dragons, and had taken a more earthly form of servitude. While another tells that Drakonian ancestry has of them drinking and bathing in dragon's blood to obtain their powers and lead them to what they are now. A Dragonblood's body is naturally warmer when compared to a human which allows them to adapt to their more frosty environments. They are able to trap in heat by using their scales to contract and seal up escaping warmth, and relax them to cool down quickly like vents. Their claws, horns, scales, and teeth are sharp able to cause massive damage to steelworks when given the chance. |
Faun:
Rank: Legendary Rather than claws and scales, this variant of a Drakonian instead has fur and sometimes hooves, akin to satyrs. Some might even have a combo, retaining their scales in areas while having an overgrowth of fur. Rumors might say it's a werewolf curse from eons ago that had infected a few Dragonblood, then trickled their way into what they are now. However strange that their appetite lingers more to foliage than to meat. Majority of them happen to be more empathetic, and sensitive to their environment. Generally petite, and far smaller in height when compared to the other variants. Fauns are naturally more gifted with magic as they are able to sense the flow of aether acutely around their surroundings. Most of these variants often wind-up being mages or as scouts for the military. |
