(de-jinks)
Djynx, also known as Djynxes (de-jink-says) - is a very strange spirit fox which deceive their victims with songs before sucking their souls out. It's not often filling so they sometimes would gorge on the corpse with a particular affinity on defacing the soulless bodies beyond recognition. When trained properly they make excellent guardians and detectives, with the capability of picking up and speaking language and seeing with 'other eyes'. Not recommended for a first timer's pet or those without a strong will. Underneath their paws they have hands resembling closely to either primates or humans; shadow hands. It's often the same colour as their spirit flame, and most likely why victims have a hard time pulling these feisty things off when they're latched on. Easily transportable, they can make a home in the tiniest of places such as bamboo or oil lamps, and live/haunt comfortably. It can be difficult to detach a Djynx from their home once they claim it. There has been stories that Xilhototol had created them to be simple servants and locators for struggling spirits that have yet to move on, but have soon outgrown their reach to prey on the living in Illuhare. Diet: Meat, and spirits. Fussy eaters and only prefers the freshest of cuts, and Spirit Wisps would also find their way in their meals. Location: Forest, Tundra, Desert. Anywhere as long it's a place where beings are known to lose their way, and even buried. |

Standard:
Rank: Common A Standard Djynx is known to have a slim and sleek, canine-like body. An overall well-built frame and the most common found throughout the species. They have been known to be extremely flexible and able to squeeze through narrow openings in alleyways and coops. A popular subspecies for their grace, and intelligence, but like all Djynxes only well-experienced trainers can handle these beasts. They have been known to be called Callers due to the way they lure in prey. |
Hound:
Rank: Mythical A larger variant of the Djynx, taking up a bulkier outlook similar to a rottweiler and great dane. Unlike the Caller or Wisp types, they are more independent and often can be found in more deserted areas without any human contact. Typically loners who hunt on their own. Their bite power is extraordinary and can be akin to a Snapadile, and are more direct with their attacks, going head first rather than stalking or sneaking as the species typically are known for. |
Wisp:
Rank: Rare The smaller variant of a Djynx, which some could even be mistaken for a rather large rat. Wisps can be found more closer to settlements favouring alleyways and ditches as their hide. Many Wisps can congregate together when a meal is shown and they would often share in the spoils. Grooming sessions are a common occurrence. Some Wisps however can be up to mischief and find themselves in homes, ransacking cupboards or even harassing the family pet. |
